The sun, earth, sea, water, wind and other natural gifts are rich and endless sources of God-given energy on earth. Considering the ever-increasing growth of the human population and the depletion of fossil energies as an important factor of environmental pollution, it is necessary to move towards the use of clean energies. The practical use of sustainable energies requires special and advanced technologies, and from this point of view, the role of architecture will be very important to create a suitable space and container.

All creatures have the instinct to build their own architecture in their nature. The collective life of creatures, separation of duties and placement of various architectures in the vicinity of each other have created beautiful textures. Man, as the best of creations, is not exempt from this rule. A person uses the power of thinking to create the architecture he wants, and by looking at the architecture of the rocks and other elements of the surrounding nature, he takes a role model from them. In this way, man has been able to surpass other creatures from erecting simple shelters to building all kinds of buildings with the help of indigenous and non-indigenous materials.

Human construction gradually reached high levels of development and progress by studying different types of shelters. Today, in every corner of the world, there is talk of building buildings in accordance with the most advanced standards of ensuring the level of comfort of users, which at the same time are operated with the least amount and sometimes without the need for energy. There is no doubt that in today's world, the optimal use of energy resources is considered the most important topic and the basic concern of man in life.

It is clear that the land of Iran, as one of the first centers of the formation of human civilization, can be a suitable platform for recognizing the initial achievements of humans in the use of clean energies; Although today, following the change of the world's development map, it is lagging behind the rapid progress, but the study of the remaining examples gives a good understanding of the history of constructions aligned with the optimization of energy consumption.

In this book, we tried to list some of the most important requirements, advantages and solutions of using new energies in the path of achieving sustainable architecture, and reviewed the effective and influential examples of sustainable architecture in today's developed world. From this point of view, the book in front of you is organized in four chapters; The first chapter begins with a discussion about the practical advantages of green buildings and considers the aspects of economic profitability of green architecture. The second chapter deals with the requirements and strategies of using green materials and environmentally friendly products in the construction cycle, which is actually a translation of the annual report of the sustainability committee of the International Institute of Construction Sciences of the United States. The third chapter examines the ancient examples of sustainable architecture in the land of Iran. In the fourth chapter, which is the longest chapter of the book, today's examples of green architecture in developed countries are reviewed. Perhaps, from this passage, an opportunity will be provided for those involved in the construction industry, so that they can use examples of successful examples of architecture in the world in alignment with local components in the path of achieving sustainable construction.
